NEW YORK — The toddler hit by a line drive off the bat of Todd Frazier at Yankee Stadium last week may get a visit from the Toms River slugger as she continues to recover.

After Monday's game, Frazier said he had been texting with the girl's father, NJ.com reported. He said the girl is still hospitalized but the hardest part of her recovery is behind her.

Frazier said he has also spoken with the girl's father but he doesn't know where the family lives or where she is hospitalized.

The father of two young children himself, Frazier took it hard when he hit the 105 mph liner into the stands along the third base line. Video posted by the Yankees of the at-bat shows Frazier crouching and resting his head on the bat after watching the ball hit the girl.

Frazier told NorthJersey.com he first spoke to the family last week and said the girl's father was also concerned about him.

It also brought back the debate about netting in major league ballparks. The Mets extended netting beyond the outfield ends of the dugouts this season, after the All-Star break. The Yankees said in an August statement posted on the team’s website that they "are seriously exploring extending the netting prior to the 2018 season."

Frazier is a supporter of the nets and hoped the Yankees would have installed them in time for the team's final regular season games this week, according to NorthJersey.com.

The Yankees have clinched a playoff birth but remain four games behind the first-place Boston Red Sox in the American League East.
