TOMS RIVER — Police are looking for a man they say could be connected to the burglary of money from a local church's donation box.

According to police, the incident happened on Sunday at the Christ Episcopal Church on Washington Avenue. While police did not say how much money was stolen from the box they did reinforce the fact that stealing from a church may not be the best idea.

"Steal other people's stuff - You are a low life. Steal from a donation box at a church - you are lower than low and our Facebook followers will help identify you," the department said in a Facebook post.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Det. Patrick Jacques at 732-349-0150 ext. 1297 or email him at pjacques@trpolice.org.
