Two NJ corrections employees dead in murder-suicide, cops say
BRIDGETON — A couple who worked for the state Department of Corrections were found dead in their after what police are calling a murder suicide.
According to police, officers were called to the home at 10 p.m. on Saturday night and they found a 43-year-old male and 45-year-old female dead of apparent gunshot wounds. The couple were found in their basement after police say a friend of the woman called police when they could not reach her.
Chief Michael Gaimari said that while the investigation is ongoing, it appears the man shot the woman before killing himself.
Bridgeton police are not identifying the couple pending notification of of next of kin.
