Have You Ever Stiffed Or Under-Tipped Your Waiter Or Waitress? [POLL]

How bad does service have to be before you consider stiffing or under-tipping a waiter or waitress? There's good service, there's mediocre service and then there's dreadful service. When I was in high school, I used to work for tips at a golf course, and although I wasn't waiting tables, I understood what it took to get a good tip out of a customer. Because of that, I always went out of my way to make sure the golfer I was assisting was happy.

Having experience in this type of work, I tend to be an overly generous tipper in most cases, even when they hand you a check with the dreaded mandatory gratuity factored in to the final bill. I have had a couple of experiences where I was extremely unhappy at various places that will remain nameless (but I still know which places they were!). It wasn't because of sub-par food, the wait staff is not at fault for that. It was due to poor service and crummy attitudes every time.
