This is the worst kind of person on NJ beaches

What the heat wave took away from barbecues and outdoor games for the Fourth of July weekend, it made up for it with crowds at the beach. The shore was absolutely packed this weekend. And rightfully so. The ocean water was refreshing, and the heat wave made for the ideal beach day.

I went down Saturday morning, and thankfully beat the crowds for parking, but as the day went on, the place became mayhem.

And of course, I had the worst beach goers sit directly behind me.

Now, let me preface this rant by saying it was a big family behind me. Adults, teenagers, toddlers, it was one very big family. I WANT them to have fun at the beach. I remember going with my family when I was a kid. I have fond memories of it. I want those parents to provide their children with memories they'll think back on years from now. I'm not a curmudgeon. Fun is allowed to be had.

However, there's a line between having fun as a family and being downright obnoxious. Unfortunately, they crossed that line.

I could get past the loud music they played. Was it annoying? For sure. But so many people do that on the beach that you just kind of get used to it. What I couldn't get past was the fact that for three minutes, the entire family, did karaoke to one of the songs, at the top of their lungs. Legitimately screaming the lyrics. While hundreds of people around them, minding their own business, had to put up with it.

Again, I'm all for having fun. It's a family day, you paid to be there. Enjoy yourself! But you also need to have a feel. Understand that you're not alone on the beach. Other people are in the same area as you, and you're driving them nuts.
