PLAINFIELD — Police have captured a third suspect that was wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of a 24-year-old Plainfield woman in late June.

Raequon Segers, 19, was arrested Tuesday night in Plainfield, according to a statement from Union County Prosecutor Grace H. Park. Two other Plainfield suspects - Gquan Johnson, 18, and Anthony Baines, 22 - were also arrested and charged in the slaying.

All three men are facing charges of first degree murder and two related weapons offenses in the death of Neelega Perry, police said.

Raequon Segers, 19, was arrested without incident late Tuesday night in Plainfield. Segers, 18-year-old Gquan Johnson, and 22-year-old Anthony Baines, all Plainfield residents, are charged with first-degree murder and two related weapons offenses in connection with the June 29 death of 24-year-old Neelega Perry, whose body was found in the backyard of a Spruce Street home. Perry was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The three suspects are being held at Union County Jail in Elizabeth, with bail set at $1.5 million for Baines and Johnson, and $1 million for Segers, according to the prosecutor's office.

The three suspects were identified following an investigation by the Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Task Force, Plainfield Police, Union County Sheriff’s Office Identification Unit, and Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit.

If convicted on first degree murder charges, the three men could face a sentence of 30 years to life in a New Jersey State prison, the prosecutor's office said.
