DENNIS TOWNSHIP — Three days after a 4-year-old girl was pulled from an unguarded lake, State Police announced she has died.

Lt. Ted Schafer said young Kaylin Pahulick of Levittown, Pennsylvania died at 2:36 on Monday morning. Schafer said Pahulick had been swimming with a group of children last Thursday and was not with them when they were getting out of the water. After she was rescued from the water, Schafer said, emergency personnel arrived on scene and initiated CPR.

Emergency personnel found a pulse, and the girl was taken by helicopter to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Schafer said the cause of death is under investigation and that the investigation is being handled by the New Jersey State Police.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, the incident happened at the Lake & Shore RV Resort in Ocean View. Paul Brown, who was staying at the resort at the time but did not witness the incidentm told the Press that the lake the girl was swimming in is divided into a bathing area and a separate fishing area.

"I'm sick to my stomach," Brown was quoted as saying. "I can't get it out of my head."

This weekend, a 6-year-old girl drowned in an unguarded pool at a Wildwood hotel. State regulations do not require such pools to have lifeguards.
