WILDWOOD - — A six-year-old drowned in the deep end of a hotel swimming pool on Saturday

CPR was already being administered to the Philaidelphia girl who when police and rescue personnel arrived at the Nantucket Inn & Suites on Ocean Avenue around 4:30 p.m., according to Wildwood Police, who said she had unknowingly entered the deep end. The girl was taken to Cape Regional Medical Center where she later died.

It's not known if a lifeguard was on duty at the time.

The girl, whose identity was not disclosed, was on vacation with several members of her family.

Police said the drowning is not considered suspicious, and their investigation continues.
