A website offering young female co-eds the chance to meet wealthy older men who are willing to pay for their education - and their company - has become increasingly popular with Rutgers University students in New Jersey.

Seekingarrangement.com reports that the number of Rutgers students signing up to become “sugar babies” rose 32 percent in 2014.

The website began in 2006 and now boasts over 3.6 million members. The premise is that 'sugar babies,' young people in need of financial support, create profiles to be matched with 'sugar daddies' or 'sugar mommas,' wealthy, older people who are willing to support them financially. There is no implicit promise of intimacy or sexual contact.

A 29-year-old caller to the Dennis and Judi show, speaking on condition of anonymity, claims that she receives between $8,000 and $10,000 per month from a benefactor she has been seeing for about three months. She explained that he is one of several men she has met since joining the website.
