The Union County Prosecutor's Office confirms to the Star Ledger that 100 members of law enforcement began a search at Liberty State Park in Jersey City this morning.

Authorities believe 43-year-old Matthew Ballister III killed 43-year-old April Wyckoff of Cranford in his Union Township home sometime on Tuesday evening.

Ballister is held on $2 million bail, charged with murder.

His mother, Eleanor Schofield of Mountainside, is accused of interfering with the investigation. Authorities say she attempted to assist in his effort to conceal evidence of the crime.

Authorities are looking for anyone who may have had contact with Ballister or his mother between Tuesday and Wednesday. Call 908-527-4126 or 908-347-2686 if you have any information.
