Two Teens Videotape Themselves Beating A Homeless Man

Please tell me there's a reason for this.  Please tell me the two young idiots who happily decided to record themselves beating and taunting a homeless man have completely dysfunctional backgrounds.  Please tell me they come from the worst parents imaginable.  Parents who abandoned them.  Physically abused them.  Sexually abused them.  Verbally abused them. Please tell me their souls were crushed at such young ages that there was no possibility of them ever being normal.  In other words, please don't tell me they're normal.  Please don't tell me they come from fairly normal upbringings with parents who were there for them.  Who loved them and showed it.  Who paid attention to them.  Who did their jobs as parents reasonably well.

For if that's true it not only defies all explanation, it tells me their parents are victims too.  Can you imagine being a decent parent who tried hard to raise good kids and then see them doing this?  How would you even let them come home?  Sleep under your roof even another night?  Get them a lawyer?  It's a less disturbing thought to believe the parents were monsters and therefore this was inevitable.  I want to sleep tonight so I'm going with that one.
