A 21-year-old Trenton man was charged with murder in connection with the shooting death of another city man, police said Monday.

On Friday, Seth Z. Bowers was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon, according to Acting Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri.

Authorities say that on June 1, at about 3:50 p.m., Bowers allegedly shot 25-year-old Zaire Gibbs during an altercation on Washington Street in Trenton. He was transported by emergency crews to Capital Health Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.

Authorities say Bowers was served the complains Friday evening in the Mercer County Corrections Center, where he is being held on unrelated offenses. His bail has been set at $1 million cash only, police said.
