I hope you are fortunate enough, like me, to have the pleasure of seeing and speaking with your mom everyday.  If not, I hope you think of her often with warm thoughts and memories.

I've dug up some facts about Mother's Day that you may enjoy.

This year, The National Retail Federation estimates that U.S. consumers will spend almost 22 billion dollars celebrating Mother's Day.  My other half and me will be taking my mom out for a fantastic brunch after I get home from New Jersey 101.5.

While we're on the subject, most consumers will give cards and flowers, or take mom out for a nice meal.

Over four billion dollars will be spent on jewelry, followed by two billion for cards.  By the way, 120 million Mother's Day cards will be given today.

More people buy flowers for Mother's Day than any other occasion except for Christmas and Hanukkah.

Just in the U.S., there will be 122 million phone calls today to mom.

Anna Jarvis started the tradition of wearing a carnation on Mother's Day.

So yes, today is Mother's Day.  If it's possible, I'm sure you'll do something nice during this warm Sunday for your mom.

Never take a great thing for granted.  Here's what I do.  Of course I don't give my mom flowers and brunch everyday.

For all her love and what she has done for me, I try to treat her like it's Mother's Day everyday.
