Three Indicted in Beating, Stabbing of NJ Cab Driver
Three people charged in the brutal beating and stabbing of a southern New Jersey cab driver have been indicted on attempted murder and numerous other charges.
Two Cherry Hill residents -- 18-year-old Breanna Pimienta and 23-year-old Miguel Mercado -- and 21-year-old Mahadi Robinson Jr. of Maple Shade also face charges of robbery, conspiracy, carjacking and weapons offenses in the indictment handed up last week by a Burlington County grand jury. It was made public Thursday.
Burlington County prosecutors say the three, along with a juvenile who has since pleaded guilty, attacked the 20-year-old cab driver in January. He was cut across the neck during the robbery, but fled the cab and ran to a nearby home to escape his assailants.
Prosecutors say the robbery netted the defendants $40.
