So many doughnuts, so little (gym) time. Long after National Doughnut Day is over, these New Jersey shops still will be churning out amazing, tasty creations. From classic glaze and jelly-filled to lots of creative calorie jackpots, Jersey has 'em. I've charted the best of NJ doughnuts, so you can create your own "mini" trail for a carb-loaded weekend outing (check out the Google Map above). Since so many of these treats are a feast for the eyes and stomach, I also did a top 10 of doughnut shops. Based on the roundup, Monmouth and Ocean counties lead the pack for yummy "doughnut density." The rest of our NJ Doughnut Trail is listed below. Good ahead and indulge. I won't judge. If you think I missed a sweet spot, you can share your Jersey Fresh doughnut faves... just tweet me @ProudJersey and at @NJ1015!

1. Broad Street Dough Co.  (Monmouth County) 2005 Rt. 35N, Oakhurst https://www.instagram.com/p/BUwdOMHgwzH/ The cotton candy triple-layer doughnut caught my attention, immediately. For local flavors, you can chow down on "Shrewsbury Fields" or "Belmar Bliss." Broad Street Dough Co's options include vegan/gluten free (or 'vlugen') doughnut varieties, so no one's left hungry. I also hear the cannolli doughnut is amaaazing! 2. Shore Good Donuts (LBI, Ocean County) 1211 Long Beach Blvd. in Ship Bottom and 14 S. Bay Ave. in Beach Haven).

Shore Good Donuts lives up to its name on LBI. Two spots offer made-to-order goodies, in Beach Haven and Ship Bottom. It's also a personal favorite of our own meteorologist Dan Zarrow, whose go-to flavors include the "Sandy" (glazed with crushed almonds) the "Everything" (not just for bagels anymore) and the "Orange Cream" doughnut (a rotating specialty).
