Summertime burglaries go through the roof in these two NJ towns

Now obviously it can happen to anyone, and it can happen any time of year. However, summer months can spike the chances because thieves know your routine is different and you’re likely to be away more often.

A study was done that found two New Jersey cities are among the cities in the United States where burglaries go way up in the summertime. Before I tell you which two New Jersey cities made this unenviable list, know that the No. 1 city for the greatest spike in summer burglaries is Minneapolis, Minnesota. Home burglaries spike a shocking 47% there, according to the numbers crunched by moneygeek.com.

I guess Minnesota burglars don’t like their fingers numb when trying to pry open windows?

Here in the Garden State, Jersey City ranks 12th nationally for the warm-weather burglary increase. Once it’s summer, Jersey City sees a 16% spike.

Worse is Newark. Brick City experiences a shocking 25% hike in home burglaries in summertime. That puts us in 5th place for the nation.
