HAMILTON — A 53-year-old man died after an out-of-control car ran him over and crashed into a house.

Police say the crash happened about 7:54 pm Tuesday on Edinburg Road, where a 2004 Toyota Sequoia went off the street and plowed into the man and then crashed into the house.

Police did not identify the victim, who died on the scene. They described the driver only as a 40-year-old man from Lambertville. The driver was hospitalized with minor injuries. No criminal charges have been filed.

The crash caused extensive damage to the home.

The victim had been taking out the trash when he was struck, 6abc.com reported.
