WASHINGTON (Warren) — Authorities say they discovered a marijuana grow operation at a New Jersey man's home after they went there looking for his adult daughter in an unrelated weapons matter.

Township police say 58-year-old Stephen Phillips faces charges that include manufacture and distribution of marijuana and possession of cocaine. It wasn't known Saturday if he's retained an attorney.

The Warren County Tactical Response Team went to the home Thursday as part of their search for Phillips' 20-year-old daughter, who was being sought in connection with a report of shots fired in a nearby wooded area. Authorities say the marijuana grow was found after Phillips gave them permission to search the home.

The daughter was not at the residence but was eventually found in another nearby community.
