At a moment's notice, we can have it fresh, hot, and well done.

;The crust can be thin, or the crust can be thick. You can have more sauce than cheese if you like it that way.

If you haven't already figured it out, I'm talking about New Jersey pizza.

Last week I had pizza out of state, and I realized just how different other states are from New Jersey. The sauce was somehow the wrong color, the crust was almost stale, and the cheese-to-sauce ratio was dominated by cheese.

I used to think it was a cliché when people said other states are just clueless when it comes to pizza, but now I got my first experience of just how bad it can be.

On the flip side, this weekend I went to a Jersey pizzeria, and I was reminded how nobody does it like us. I'm a Trenton-area guy, so I like my pizza thin crust and well done, and of course I'm partial to the tomato pie. I'm a true homer for it.

But even still, there are so many great places around New Jersey that don't do tomato pies and still make phenomenal pizza. The crust is just always better here.

The same goes for bagels here too. Try getting them anywhere else and it's like you're taking you're playing a guessing game. Not here though.

So the next time you stop by your local pizza shop, just remember how lucky we are in New Jersey. Ours is going to be good no matter what. Other states don't have that luxury.
