Hurricane Irma weakened to a Category 1 storm as it zeroes in on the Tampa Bay region, after hammering much of Florida with roof-ripping winds, gushing floodwaters, and widespread power outages.

We are learning that "Operation Mega," a major immigration sweep by ICE agents that was going to take place this week, has been put on hold because of the destruction caused by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma.

And, we are marking the 16th anniversary of one of the nation's most scarring days: the 9/11 terror attacks.
