Hundreds of students and applicants risk having their Social Security numbers compromised after a laptop computer was lost or possibly stolen from a community college in Washington Township, Warren County.

Warren County Community College officials say an employee in the financial aid office reported the laptop was missing on Sept. 27.

The school alerted students last week after getting permission from various agencies.

College President Will Austin told The Express-Times of Easton, Pa. , as many as 5,461 students and applicants could have their information compromised.
