Man charged with dumping body of missing NJ woman but not with killing her

SALEM — A New Jersey man faces a charge stemming from the death of a missing woman whose body was found in January in woods in Salem County.

The Press of Atlantic City reported Friday that a grand jury indicted 40-year-old Jose Sosa-Ayala, of Bridgeton, on a charge of desecrating human remains.

Authorities say 19-year-old Danyelle Minerva, of Atco, was reported missing by her family in October, when Sosa-Ayala allegedly brought the woman to his house. Authorities say she died at the house.

The cause of death wasn't immediately available, but authorities say there were not obvious signs of physical trauma.

The newspaper said Sosa-Ayala and another man, Jose Felix-Sosa, originally were charged in the investigation but the grand jury didn't indict the second man and charges against him are to be dismissed.
