On December weekends New Jersey 101.5 is playing all Christmas music, and listeners have overwhelmed us with positive comments about the mix of holiday hits we featured last weekend!

The Christmas fun continues this weekend!  Starting Friday night at 7pm, Big Joe Henry will be taking your Christmas music requests at 1-800-283-1015.  On Saturday night Matt Ryan will provide the soundtrack for festive weekend fun and will take your calls and requests!

This weekend we will feature the newly discovered Christmas songs from the late great Clarence Clemons.

Recorded in 1981, these soon to be classics will touch your heart as we spend our first Christmas without the legendary rock icon.

The songs were recorded Ocean Gate New Jersey just  after the River tour wrapped up in 1981.  The producers and Clarance had planned to get the songs picked up by a record company for release by Christmas of that year, but that never happened.  Then Clarence got busy with his band "The Red Bank Rockers", touring with Bruce & The E Street Band and of course his own solo career that peaked with the hit song he recorded with Jackson Browne.

With the Big Man's passing in June of this year, the guys who wrote and produced the songs dug them out, re-mastered them, then sent them to Clarence's estate for their blessing.

The recordings of "There's Still Christmas" and "The Christmas Song" can be heard below and will be featured this weekend on New Jersey 101.5.
