Some New Jersey Shore residents in the storm-ravaged Toms River area are headed to a movie theater to watch a headliner-packed concert being simulcast from New York's Madison Square Garden and staged on their behalf.

The theater in Toms River is one of more than 25 in New Jersey, New York and Connecticut where free tickets were given out to people affected by Superstorm Sandy.

The concert organizers say 40 percent of the proceeds will go to groups in New Jersey.

A storm-weary Toms River Mayor Thomas Kelaher tells The Associated Press that when he gets home Wednesday night, he'll want to sleep rather than watch the benefit concert. He worries that money raised will only reach higher profile communities and not his.
