Rep. Gabrielle Giffords vows to return to Congress in a book that details her therapy and battle to come to terms with the Tucson shooting that killed six and wounded her and 12 others.

"Gabby: A Story of Courage and Hope" is the most personal and detailed look yet at Giffords' struggle over the past 10 months to relearn how to walk and talk.

The Associated Press purchased an advanced copy of the book that's set for release Nov. 15.

Giffords' husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, wrote the book. But Giffords delivers a section in which she says her goal is to get back to Congress.

Kelly also recounts the agony felt when several media outlets inaccurately reported Giffords was dead, then describes hope when he learned she was alive.
