Investigators say the blast occurred around 10:10 a.m. Saturday at the two-story home on Sumner Avenue in Seaside Heights. A contractor was doing maintenance work there at the time, and authorities say the blast apparently occurred after a gas main was left open inside the house.

Authorities say the explosion occurred on the first floor. A 26-year-old woman who was upstairs at the time was taken to a hospital for an evaluation, but authorities say she apparently was not injured.

New Jersey Natural Gas says they conducted a pressure test of system and found no impact to the system.

Authorities say the explosion caused significant damage to the home.
