“There’s something special about vacationing near the water.”

That was a quote from the panel of judges at USA Today when they painstakingly selected 20 waterfront hotels and resorts nominees for their ongoing 10Best series. Wouldn’t you know, a New Jersey hotel by the ocean is waiting for your vote.

According to NJ.com, Asbury Ocean Club is in the running. The competition may be tough.

It’s up against places like the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point, California, and the Grand Hotel, Mackinac Island, Michigan. But honestly? Who needs earthquakes on vacation, or horse poop throughout the streets? The latter is a real IYKYK.

Why shouldn’t Asbury Ocean Club be voted into the 10Best? Just read what the judges at USA Today said:

“Asbury Ocean Club offers secluded luxury on the beautiful Asbury Park Atlantic Ocean coastline. One-bedroom suites here boast kitchenettes, two full baths, and expansive terraces looking out at the sea. Other features include a swimming pool terrace with a full-service bar and grill, while the resort's Drawing Room restaurant is in a floating glass house.”

Uh…a floating glass house? Okay, I don’t even know what that means, and I want to go!

Yes, of course there’s a spa. Yes, of course there’s a yoga room. This ain’t no Motel 6, okay?

Full disclosure, I’ve never stayed anywhere overnight in Asbury Park (other than the  Paranormal Museum, but that's a whole other story). However, looking at their website I feel  like that needs to change. And hey, even if you haven’t stayed there, maybe you want to give  some love to our home state and add your vote.

Nice thing is you can vote once per day until the polls close on Monday, August 3 at noon. Winners will be announced on August 12.

Hey, can I at least get an Asbury Ocean Club robe if I vote? You can vote here.
