State officials won't say if Penn State's president is a grand jury "target" of the investigation into alleged child-sex assault on campus.

University President Graham Spanier testified before the grand jury investigating the accusations against former football coach Jerry Sandusky.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Linda Kelly confirmed Monday that coach Joe Paterno is not a target of the criminal case.

But Kelly declined to make the same statement about Spanier at an afternoon news conference. She said only that the investigation is ongoing.

Penn State's vice president and athletic director are charged with perjury and failing to report the alleged crimes to police. The grand jury says Spanier testified that he was told Sandusky had been seen "horsing around" with a boy.
