ALEXANDRIA — The suspect in a Hunterdon County home burglary last month may have been scared from the scene, which the state police say may explain why he took random items from the home.

During the burglary on the night of June 26, State Police say the suspect broke into the home through the front door and left with $40 in change and an orange pillow case. Police said the man left before he could be found, and they believe he may have planned to put other items in the pillow case before fleeing the scene.

The man is described as being about 5 feet, 10 inches and 245 pounds. Seen in surveillance pictures, he is balding with white facial hair.

The state police are asking anyone with information about the man to contact Trooper Daniel Harrison at the Kingswood Station at 908-996-2864.
