The girl’s father, 55-year-old Kerry Clark, and family friend 66-yar-old John O’Donnell, were arrested on Aug. 8 and charged with endangering the welfare of a child, according to NorthJersey.com. Police told the website that the girl was dropped off at the Walmart with $10 and told she would be picked up later that day. Store security alerted local police and when Clark and O'Donnell returned, they were arrested and transported to Bergen County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Clark pleaded guilty Tuesday to a fourth degree charge of neglect, NorthJersey.com reported. He was sentenced to time served with no probation. O’Donnell was accepted into Pre-Trial Intervention program, the article states. Once he successfully completes the program he will not have a criminal record.
