Paramus police tell The Record that the bicyclists, identified only as men who live in the borough, were on their way to work when they were struck around 4:50 a.m. Sunday on Midland Avenue.

One man was hospitalized in critical condition, while the other was in stable condition. But specific details on their injuries were not disclosed.

No charges have been filed against the man who was driving the vehicle, but the investigation is ongoing. Authorities said there was no evidence to indicate that drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.
