$10M Bail for Man Who Allegedly Killed NJ Teen

Bail has been set at $10 million for a Pennsylvania man accused in the slaying of a Kearny teenage girl who was found shot to death inside her northern New Jersey home.

Hudson County prosecutors tell The Jersey Journal that 41-year-old Cruz Martinez Jr. of Hazelton also faces weapons charges in the death of 16-year-old Alishia Colon of Kearny, who was shot in the head. Martinez was arrested Saturday in Pennsylvania on an unrelated warrant and will be extradited to New Jersey.

Colon's body was found in her bedroom Thursday, not long after some of her relatives were involved in a street fight. Authorities say the girl wasn't involved in the fight, and investigators say it's not yet known if the fight and the fatal shooting are connected.
