What NJ malls are open on Thanksgiving?

New Jersey's largest mall will be among many across the state to open on Thanksgiving Day.

Lisa Herrmann-Srednicki, senior director of marketing for Westfield Garden State Plaza, tells The Record the decision to open for the first time on Thanksgiving was made after discussion with mall retailers and shoppers.

The mall is ranked as the state's largest by the International Council of Shopping Centers, with 2.1 million square feet of retail space.

"The reason we’re opening on Thanksgiving is because of the enthusiasm for the earlier and earlier openings over the past few years,” Herrmann-Srednicki said.

Garden State Plaza and Paramus Park malls will both be open from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. as dictated by ordinance in the Bergen County town. Many of the anchor stores at both malls were planning to be open at other locations around the area. Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus will not be opening any stores on Thanksgiving.
