We tried the Starbucks Zombie Frappuccino — Here’s our taste test
If you've been on social media at all in the past week, you've probably seen tons of pictures getting posted of Starbucks' new Zombie Frappuccino. The internet is going crazy over this thing.
So, in the spirit of Halloween, we decided to get our hands on one and have NJ 101.5 staffers give it a taste test.
The two taste-testers included morning drive producer/reporter Patrick Lavery and Deminski and Doyle producer Joe Votruba. Both have been known to pretty much consume anything. We'll just call them adventurous lovers of free food (and beverages). The agreed to try the Halloween/Walking Dead themed drink with little prodding. they may or may not have regretted that decision.
On to the Zombie Frappuccino. Ok, first can we just agree that the drink does, in fact, look kinda cool...and gets even more zombie-like as it starts to settle in its domed cup. It's a pale green color and it's topped with a dark reddish drizzle and then covered in pinkish whipped cream.
Joe V. described by saying it looked like "if you saw a zombie....and ran it over with an SUV." Pretty accurate.
As for the taste, Starbucks describes is as having a green caramel apple flavor with a dark mocha drizzle (to resemble blood) and pink whip (brains). As the drink settles, all of the aforementioned flavors basically mix together. It becomes sort of fruity, kind of chocolately and really sweet.
Check out the video for Joe and Patrick's full (and brutally honest) review.
