A lockdown has been lifted at two schools in Voorhees after police determined that an unattended vehicle full of ammunition found in a parking lot posed no threat.

Voorhees Police lifted the lockdown after making contact with the Pennsylvania man who drove the car to the doctor's office lot on Route 561 according to a message sent out via Nixle.

The man, who has a gun permit, explained that he left his car after picking up his girlfriend from work on Tuesday. He was planning on picking the car up today according to WPVI TV.

The Camden County Bomb Squad and K-9 dogs came to the scene to investigate the car before it was towed away according to KYW TV.

Eastern Senior High School and the Kellman Brown Academy in Voorhees were both put on lockdown by Voorhees Police after the car with ammo inside was discovered around 7:40 a.m.

The car had ammunition, an empty holster and a suspicious-looking bag in the back seat according to WPVI TV.
