August 15th, 1969 – 400,000 people attend the first day of Woodstock Festival on Max Yasgur’s 600 acre farm in Bethel, New York. The festival would last 3 days and is widely regarded as a pivotal moment in popular music history.

August 16th, 1968 – After 6 month’s of practicing, Bruce Springsteen’s new band Earth performs for the first time at the Off Broad Street Coffee House in Red Bank. The price to get in… $0.75.

August 17th, 1998Carlos Santana receives his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame after more then 30 years of playing and recording. It may have been his recent return into the spotlight, showcasing his guitar chops paired with vocals from several of the current pop music icons.

August 18th, 1986Bon Jovi releases their third studio album, Slippery When Wet, which would hit No.1 on the charts, going on to sell over 28 million copies worldwide. The set featured two New Jersey favorites, ‘You Give Love A Bad Name’, and ‘Livin’ On A Prayer’.

August 19th, 1969David Crosby and Stephen Stills appear on the Dick Cavett Show.  It's shot at Television Center in New York City. Also appearing on this episode is Joni Mitchell and Jefferson Airplane.

August 20th, 1990 - Aerosmith appears at the Marquee Club in London. Special guest Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin fame joins the band on stage for a blues jam session.

August 21st, 1982 - Bono ties the knot in Ireland with longtime girlfriend Alison Stewart. By his side is U2 bassist Adam Clayton acting as Bono's best man.
