3 times I missed seeing Bruce Springsteen in the wild: Should I be offended?
I don’t mean for this to sound conspiratorial, yet I’m about to get my tinfoil hat.. I feel like Bruce Springsteen is avoiding me, but I can’t totally prove it.
Stay with me on this.
He and I are both Freehold natives, so I thought he would respect that bond.
Yet, I opened up the news on Monday and saw… there he was, performing in Jon Bon Jovi’s "Forever Tour" at Madison Square Garden just days after I saw the same tour.

I had seen the "Living’ on a Prayer" singer the Tuesday prior, yet Bruce was nowhere to be seen.
This isn’t the first time that ‘The Boss’ has successfully narrowly avoided me.
About a year and a half ago, I went to Jersey Freeze to get lunch before work.
Like I said, I’m a Freehold girlie, that’s just what we do.
I found out through friends that no less than ten minutes after I had left to go to the office that Bruce had "sprung from cages off Highway 9" (no seriously, that’s where it’s located) to stop by the iconic ice cream shop.

I know it (maybe) wasn’t the case, but I picture him sitting in his Range Rover just waiting to watch me pull out of the parking lot.
And then there’s Roberto’s, a diner located on 59 E. Main St. in Freehold, NJ.
I’ve been there many times. I went there for lunch after I took my SATs, that’s how far back I go with them.
Bruce has been in there, taken photos, enjoyed a bite, yet it’s never been any of the times I was enjoying a meal.

Two incidences are a coincidence; three make it a pattern. Bruce is avoiding me and he’s not even being coy about it.
Is this all circumstantial evidence? Perhaps.
Does that make me feel better? No.
Bruce, I don't know what I have to do to make it right with you, but I'm willing to do it. As long as it's not sitting through a political rant, I have to draw the line somewhere.
