I always love a good “huge-rat” story, but this may be the most frightening one yet. Scientists in Britain are warning of “super rats” that are not only larger than normal rats, but are resistant to rodenticides. Think about that for a minute: at the same time the rats are getting bigger, they’re getting harder to kill.

The article mentions that there are about 70 million of the mega-rats in England and the overall rat population there is expected to exceed 120 million by the end of the year, outnumbering humans in England 2 to 1. The researchers say the beasts could reach the size of cows if they keep evolving, but others predict capybara sized rats. Let’s hope they stay across the pond.
