When you hear of the success of Bamboozle in Asbury Park, it sort of makes you wonder why Pt Pleasant has so much trouble serving alcohol past midnight.

While we have already examined the ramifications Pt Pleasant will suffer once this new policy takes effect, I thought it might be a good idea to offer some “Jersey” solutions that could not only make Pt Pleasant money from the “riff raff”who frequent the bars which will stop serving alcohol at midnight starting July1.

Feel free to add any that you feel would help.

Sell “Personal Barstool Licenses -This worked well for both the Giants and Jets at the New Metlife Stadium. Patrons could pay as much as a thousand dollars at the beginning of the season for the “opportunity” to sit at the bar and drink until midnight. Of course, like the NFL, you would still have to pay the cover and buy the drinks.

Like the Jets and Giants PSL holders who were given the opportunity to buy Bruce Springsteen tickets a day earlier than when they went on sale, maybe Jenk’s could do the same for the B Street Band.

User Fees - Since User Fees seem to be all the rage in New Jersey, perhaps the bars could not only charge you for the alcohol you buy, but if you want it in a glass, you’re going to have to pay a user fee After all, that glass does require someone to pour the drink into it, and wash it. Do you think that’s cheap?

Establish the first Midnight Medical Marijuana facility. The only problem with that would be the 4 hour traffic jam that would be caused by those returning home driving 8 miles an hour. God forbid they pass Joey Tomatoes, we’ll never get them out of here!

How about busing to and from Asbury Park, Manasquan, Belmar, and Seaside Heights? We’ll call it the “Midnight Special” and it can shine it’s ever lovin light on you!
