Fifty-year-old Heriberto Calles of Englewood also faces two counts of assault by auto and several motor vehicle charges. Bail was set Monday at $300,000 for Calles, who remains hospitalized with broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Bergen County prosecutors say Calles lost control of his vehicle in Englewood early Friday and crashed into some trees. Two passengers -- 23-year-old Miguel Molina and 32-year-old Elmer Rodriguez, both of Englewood -- were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men in the SUV were injured, but are expected to fully recover.

Calles could not be reached for comment Monday.
