An overturned tractor trailer was slowing traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike's western spur Wednesday morning.

New Jersey State Police said the accident on the southbound side near interchange 15W in Kearny involved a tractor trailer and a car. Rescue crews were still working on lifting the truck from the road and cleaning up a fuel spill as of 6 a.m.

Two lanes remained blocked on the northbound side for emergency equipment according to police, who said there were no reported injuries in the accident.

New Jersey Fast Traffic's Bob Williams said he expects the eastern spur to pick up extra traffic as the cleanup continues. He suggested taking the Garden State Parkway to Route 3 to get to the Lincoln Tunnel or continue to Route 80 and heading east to the GWB
