MILLBURN — A store employee found himself locked inside the Mall at Short Hills after the shopping center closed for the night Sunday.

According to Millburn Police Sgt. Andrew DelRusso, the man was an employee at Macy's. He said it appears that the employee was still working when the mall closed for the evening. Employees and security at Macy's locked the doors, leaving the employee unable to exit.

Police were then notified and a door was unlocked so that the man could leave. The man's name and job title were not released.

The Mall at Short Hills operates on a shorter schedule Sundays, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. throughout the rest of the week.

Officials from the mall could not immediately be reached for comment Sunday night.
