NEWARK - A car and an NJ Transit bus collided Monday morning in Newark.

NJ Transit spokeswoman Nancy Snyder said the No. 34 bus traveling from Montclair to Newark, carrying 29 passengers, was hit by a car on Martin Luther King Boulevard around 5 a.m..

Eleven passengers on the bus suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while two people were seriously injured in the car, according to ABC7 Eyewitness News.

The incident has not had an impact on NJ Transit bus service.

A crash involving two NJ Transit buses in Newark in August killed two people when one bus sped through a red light on Raymond Boulevard, striking the other on Broad Street.
