MOUNT HOLLY — Authorities say a township woman shot her partner in the face, killing her Sunday.
Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina said Laura Bluestein, 28 has been charged with the murder of 29-year-old Felicia Dormans, who was declared dead at the scene. Coffina said Bluestein told investigators the couple was married after she was taken into custody.
Bluestein was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree possession of a weapon for an illegal purpose, and fourth-degree tampering with evidence. Following her arrest she was being held in the Burlington County Jail awaiting a first appearance in Superior Court on Monday. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday for Dormans.
Police first went to the residence after being told by a relative of Bluestein's that an assault may have happened in the home, Coffina said.
Coffina said authorities were investigating a motive, and an autopsy would be performed Monday by Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood.
