Manchester officer saves a life at a hockey game — #BlueFriday
It was a real honor to speak with Manchester Township Police Officer Brian Volk today. He's one of the heroes in our community who knows a Jersey cop is always on duty.
He saved a man's life using his leadership and training a couple weeks ago after the victim had a heart attack while playing hockey. Officer Volk plays in a men's hockey league in his spare time when he's not officially on duty.
Hockey is an intense sport where people are often knocked around ending up on the ice. But in this case, Officer Volk was able to jump from 'game mode' to 'life saver' in seconds recognizing the potential danger and immediately jumping into action. Thanks to his quick thinking and decisive action, a life was saved.
