Driver Killed When SUV Goes Over Cliff In Edgewater

Authorities say a man was killed when the sport utility vehicle he was driving went over a cliff and landed on the rear patio of a condominium unit in Edgewater.

Edgewater police say the man, identified only as a 37-year-old Fairview resident, was the only person in the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred around 2:40 a.m. Saturday. Authorities say the SUV did not strike or damage the ground-level unit in the Aventine Condominium complex, which was occupied at the time.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation, and no other injuries were reported.
