VINELAND — A fire at a South Jersey hotel sent dozens into the darkness early Friday morning.

The two-alarm blaze broke out at the Ramada Inn on West Landis Avenue just off Route 55 around 2 a.m, according to 6 ABC Action News, which reported the fire was brought under control around 4:30 a.m.

About 30 people were evacuated from the two-story, 100-room  hotel, according to photographer Gil Aponte, who said the fire appeared to start in the attic. He said no alarms went off before the fire. Aponte said firefighters told him one guest jumped out a second story window.

6ABC reported two people were injured by the fire including a police officer for smoke inhalation.

The hotel property includes an IHOP restaurant and is located next to a Wingate by Wyndham hotel and a Hampton Inn. Both hotels were unaffected by the blaze, according to Aponte.
