The ‘original’ Six Flags Great Adventure jingle ‘evokes memories of summer’

I've said it before and I'll say it again: The original Great Adventure jingle is the best commercial jingle of all time.

And it's not just because it evokes memories of that wondrous summer that it opened (it was July, 1974, by the way). It's also because it's just a great piece of music. Is it just me, or do you get goosebumps hearing it, too?

From the stirring opening bars through the build- up to the soaring chorus, this song says "summer fun" and "adventure". We used to sing it around the house, and It literally made you beg your mom to take you there!

Great Adventure has seen a number of ad campaigns over the years, the most annoying of which starred the creepy "Mr. Six" guy who incessantly bounced around to the Vengaboys' "We Like to Party."

I'm not really sure who came up with that, or what drugs they were taking when they decided to give us that year-long nightmare. I know, it seems like it was much longer than that but it was only 2004-2005.

But nothing said "this is gonna be an awesome summer at this awesome place" like the song in this commercial!
