TRENTON — Computer systems for all 38 state agencies were reportedly experiencing issues on Tuesday, resulting in customers at the Motor Vehicle Commission and other offices unable to conduct their business.

According to a spokesperson for the MVC, the agency and others are "assessing the problem, and working with OIT."

She said there is no timetable for the systems to come back online, but that offices are scheduled to remain open until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. Those customers planning to go to any of the agencies are encouraged to go to the MVC website to check if the issue has been resolved.

As of 4:25 on Tuesday afternoon, a message on the site said: "Due to statewide technical issues MVC Agencies are currently unable to process customer transactions."

A customer at the Lakewood branch of the MVC at the time the outage hit told New Jersey 101.5 that customers were told it could last "anywhere between three minutes and three days."

By 4:50 on Tuesday evening the MVC spokesperson reported the problem had been resolved and that they were looking into what had caused the outage.
