Gov. Chris Christie is making more changes to his Cabinet.

Christie on Monday nominated Brigadier General Michael Cunniff as the permanent leader of the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs.

Cunniff became interim commander on since Dec. 16, when the previous commander, Maj. Glenn Rieth, resigned after he was caught having an inappropriate relationship with a female aide.

Since 2003, Cunniff has served as the 108th Air Refueling Wing Commander for the New Jersey Air National Guard, where he oversaw two flying units with more 1,300 members.

Also Monday, the governor named Ken Kobylowski to head the state's Banking and Insurance Department. Kobylowski replaces Tom Considine who is stepping down next month to return to the private sector. Kobylowski was Considine's chief of staff.
